Only having time off every two weeks, Jesus’ father came home one
weekend and found out that Jesus’ mother had a boyfriend who came to
stay with them while he was away. In the end, Jesus’ mother decided
to leave with the boyfriend, leaving his father alone to take care
Jesus then began staying with his grandmother while his father was
at work but she had little patience and Jesus was mistreated.
Deciding that her house was not a good place for his son, he opted
to take Jesus to work with him, but he was subsequently fired
because of it. Jesus’ father was desperate to find a good place that
would take care of his son so he came to Hogar Infantil.
“I like it here because I play with the other kids and have lots of
fun,” says Jesus about his new home. He sometimes gets into trouble
at school or here at Hogar, but everyone involved is dedicated to
gently helping Jesus learn to behave himself and be respectful to
others. Jesus is almost always smiling and laughing, and he’s
learning to play soccer, which he likes very much. His father comes
to visit and is encouraged by the dedication of the Hogar staff. He
knows that his son is well cared for and will have many
opportunities that he may otherwise not have had.
