How your donation works
Hogar Infantil is a partnership of two organizations. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in the US, Hogar Infantil Texas, Inc., receives monetary donations. Our volunteer US Board of Directors manages the nonprofit, raises funds, transfers funds to the local Board of Directors in Chiapas, and ensures that donations are spent appropriately and that children are safe and well-cared for.
Our dedicated volunteer local Board of Directors in Mexico is made up mostly of former residents of Hogar Infantil. The board works with the local paid on-site directors and staff to oversee day-to-day details like staffing, local resources, and individual children’s situations.
